For
thousands of years, martial art communities have taught their
members self-defense techniques using only their bodies or
simple tools as weapons. Traditional drills and exercises
used to learn and master these techniques are renowned for
putting practitioners in top athletic condition while teaching
principles for calming the mind. At the Beverly Hills Martial
Arts Center, we combine traditional martial arts teaching
with innovative training drills all of which provides for
a fun and life enriching experience. At the Center, Members
learn the arts of TaeKwonDo, HapKiDo, Ju’Do and Weapons
Training.
TaeKwonDo: With high-flying kicks, jumps, concentrated punches
and blocks, TKD creates a strong body that is fluid and flexible.
HapKiDo: Looks are deceiving with this passive |
| looking
art that disarms using the opponent's own energy and momentum
against them. Technique, not strength, is key to this art.
Ju'Do (Yudo:) Locks, holds and other grappling techniques
are used in Ju’Do. Succeeding at this art requires quick
responses and a relaxed body. Weapons' Training: Rooted in
a time when common people were not allowed to own weapons,
staff training turns a long stick into an effective weapon.
